Urgent need for blood after mass shooting in Orlando

Multiple agencies are offering help for families and victims of the deadliest mass shooting in USA history where at least 50 people were killed and dozens injured in a popular gay nightclub in Orlando.

The number of wounded victims after the shooting in Pulse Nightclub has created an urgent need for blood and plasma.

The blood center is at full capacity and is asking donors to help over the next several days to help replenish the blood supply. He wants to remind donors that in these situations “it’s the blood on the shelf that saves a life”.

Generally healthy people age 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood.

Blood Banks Asking Donors to Come Back Over Next Two Weeks
