The US has urged Pakistan to cooperate with India in investigating the September 18 “terrorist attack” and to take immediate steps against “externally focused” groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. “How could India accuse Pakistan only hours after the Uri incident without holding any inquiry or investigation, ” Sharif was quoted as saying by Pakistani media.
“The whole world knows about the Indian atrocities in Kashmir” he alleged adding, “108 people have so far been killed, over 150 blinded and thousands injured in the valley”. He reiterated his stand when he said India should introspect its own role in Kashmir.
The petition, filed by Advocate Azhar Saddique, alleged that Indian forces are committing atrocities in Kashmir and the Pakistan government has allowed Indian movies to be exhibited in local cinemas and this act is not only hurting the sentiments of Kashmiris but also the Pakistanis.
For the two countries, bilateral trade amounted to Rs 206 billion during July-May of the last fiscal year, of which Rs 42 billion was exported by Pakistan and Rs 162 billion by India.
Tensions between both the Asian neighbours have heightened ever since the dastardly terror attack in Uri Sector of Jammu and Kashmir, in which 18 Indian soldiers were martyred.
Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani also expressed “zero tolerance” towards terrorism and conveyed strong support in his talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Even though, the National Investigation Agency is probing the Uri attack and found Pakistani markings on weapons, food packets and medicines recovered from the terrorists, Islamabad is in denial.
