In Strathroy, resident Irene Lee said late Wednesday that since about 4:15 p.m., police had been camped outside the home where Driver lived.

It hasn’t been officially confirmed, but reports say Driver had at least two explosive devices, one of which was detonated.

“We should have the right to know”.

“It’s scary; it’s scary for the kids”, said Brenda Brown. “If a country goes to war with another country or another people or another community, I think they have to be prepared for things like [that] to happen.” he said. Driver was not charged with a crime, but instead released on a peace bond, on the condition he could not associate with any terrorist organization online.

Driver died after he detonated an explosive device in the backseat of a taxi as police closed in, the RCMP said at a news conference in Ottawa.

Authorities had received “credible information of a potential terrorist threat”, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said in a statement.

He said that as a precaution a “vigilance notice” was issued to all staff, encouraging them to speak up if they saw something of concern.

“The response would be based on what those circumstances were. Our partnership reflects our joint commitment to protecting the safety of our citizens”, U.S. Ambassador to Canada Bruce Heyman said in a statement.

Police say because the matter is still unfolding and the investigation remains underway, there will be no further comment.

May 2015 – RCMP say Driver is communicating in a group chat with well known members of ISIS.

A neighbour, Irene Lee, said she was at her home close by when she heard a loud noise.

“For me, having two kids and my wife and a possible terrorist. sympathizer down the street, it’s kind of.it’s a little insane”.

Driver was arrested past year for openly sympathizing with ISIS online, and frequenting jihadi message boards.

June 26, 2015: Driver is back in custody after his landlord withdraws as his surety and requests that he move to a Muslim home to so he can be better educated in that religion. During the interview he appears to justify the attack on Parliament Hill in October 2014 by Michael Zehaf-Bibeau.

When Driver was released later that month, he was ordered to wear a Global Positioning System tracking device and banned from going on the internet or having any communication with the Islamic State group, including wearing or carrying anything with an IS logo. As sad and shocked as I am, it doesn’t surprise me that it has come to this. Our ways of life aren’t compatible.
