US Election 2016: Donald Trump, Sanders Win Big in New Hampshire

Restive Democrats had their own act of anti-establishment defiance, lining up behind Vermont Sen. There is a divide among Clinton advisers about whether to attack Sanders sharply, and fears that a bitter contest could hurt Democrats in the general election. As he flew to SC, he said, “For us, it’s now time to hit that next gear”.

“I’m going to hold a fundraiser right here, right now, across America”, Sanders told his crowd and a television audience of millions Tuesday night. “Maybe greater than ever before”.

Trump crushed his competition Tuesday, capturing roughly 35 percent of the vote. Senator Marco “The Robot” Rubio was polling in second place, but dropped to fifth place; Senator Ted Cruz got about 12% and Jeb!

Furman University political scientist Danielle Vinson sees two different races: “Those fighting for Trump and Cruz who say, ‘We want an outsider, ‘ versus everyone else who wants a practical candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton and won’t embarrass you along the way”. South Carolina GOP Chairman Matt Moore lashed out at Trump’s plan to temporarily ban Muslims from the U.S.as un-American and unconstitutional.

Ms Lambert, who voted for Ms Clinton’s rival said: “If I would have thought she’d do better, I would have voted for her. I’m not just going to vote for her because she’s a woman”. “But I’m ok at handling threats”. Democrats move on to Nevada, where Sanders will leave his New England neighborhood and try to prove his mettle with a more diverse and urban electorate. His campaign launched ads Wednesday in Oklahoma, Minnesota, Colorado and MA – all states where they believe Sanders can grow.

Clinton appeared in her concession speech to be trying to co-opt Sanders’ message about an economy stacked against the middle class. “Republicans win when people are demoralized, and voter turnout is low”, he said. They also gave condoms and pamphlets about the organization’s services. They’re hungry for solutions. We’re going to fight for every vote in every state.

The popularity of Bernie Sanders among young female voters has contributed to his victory in the New Hampshire primary, an exit poll has revealed. But the outcome had been brewing for months. “I did not do well on Saturday, but listen to this: That will never happen again”.

Yet, by breathing life into Mr. Bush’s candidacy as the race arrives here – where being a Bush is not the burden it is elsewhere – the group of four New Hampshire also-rans, including Gov. John R. Kasich of OH, may simply split the stop-Trump vote too many ways.

“Light overcame the darkness”, he said.

He only got 8 percent of the vote and is heading back to New Jersey to rethink his campaign.

The next Republican contest is the February 20 SC primary, which will test Mr Trump’s staying power.

As she bats back allegations of mishandling classified information on her email server, Clinton struggled with voters who prioritized honesty and trustworthiness. “But they’re also hungry, they’re hungry for solutions”, she said. And just over 10 percent said that between the two, Clinton alone shares their values.

He outraised Clinton in January, the first time Sanders has surpassed the former secretary of State in the money race.

The current and former chiefs of the state Republican Party condemned him. “Thank you New Hampshire!”

Money will not be an impediment for Trump, the NY businessman, or Cruz, whose campaign has raised more than that of any rival and has enlisted wealthy backers to fund a robust Super Pac.

A week later, it’s on to SC, where more than half of primary voters were African American eight years ago. But after saying his repeated lines Saturday were not stumbles but intention, Rubio admitted Tuesday night in New Hampshire that it was to blame.

When Trump gets to SC on Wednesday, he isn’t likely to find any GOP leaders in the Palmetto State who are eager to embrace his campaign.
