US elections Reuters/Ipsos poll: Clinton regains double-digit lead over Trump
Support for Donald Trump has plunged as he has alienated fellow Republicans and large majorities of voters overall in the course of a month of self-inflicted controversies, propelling Democrat Hillary Clinton to a double-digit lead nationally in a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Almost 70 percent of Americans say they think Trump is unqualified to lead the nation.
The findings mirror those of a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday, which showed Clinton winning 46.6% of likely American voters, compared with 33.3% for Trump.
Trump’s campaign has also been recently rocked by the abrupt firing of his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, and a dismal FEC filing that showed his campaign had merely $1.3 million at its disposal.
Clinton, who has repeatedly pounded Trump as being “temperamentally unfit”, finished the month with $42 million. For instance, 18 percent of people who found Trump’s comments about the judge racist, 15 percent of those who think his comments generally are biased against women, minorities or Muslims, and 11 percent of those who think he is unqualified say they support Trump over Clinton. The judge is presiding over cases involving Trump’s defunct online university.
“We have a candidate who doesn’t need to figure out what’s going on in order to say what he wants to do”, Manafort said. It’s a long time until November. “And the burden, obviously, will be on him to convince people that he can handle this job”.
A previous poll taken in the wake of the Orlando nightclub massacre showed Trump narrowing the gap between himself and Clinton, with the GOP candidate looking to capitalize on his tough stance on immigration and national security.
However, survey respondents also indicated unease with former secretary of state Clinton.
Although Clinton’s rival for the Democratic nomination, Bernie Sanders, has yet to officially drop out of the race and endorse her, the Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll showed 78 percent of his primary supporters backed her. Speculation continued to swirl Sunday about who will be the running mates of the two presumptive nominees.
