US envoy says recent Iran missile test violated UN sanctions
A newer United Nations Security Council resolution, number 2231, implementing the deal and banning Iran from participating in tasks related to ballistic missiles created to carry nuclear warheads isn’t yet in effect.

U.S. ambassador to the UN Samantha Power said that her country was “deeply concerned” by the test firing.
Iranian state TV reported on Sunday that the Iranians successfully test fired a new guided long-range ballistic surface-to-surface missile.
He and White House spokesman Josh Earnest both said the issue was separate from a deal Iran struck in July with six world powers, which seeks to curb Tehran’s atomic program in return for having sanctions against it eased.
Speaking in Tehran alongside his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, he added: “None of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s missiles have been designed for nuclear capabilities”.
“This test furthers Iran’s ICBM program”, and “the sole goal of an Iranian ICBM is to enable delivery of a nuclear weapon to the United States”, the Senators warned in their letter.
The launch may also be against the spirit of continuing restrictions contained in the deal reached between Iran and the major powers over its wider nuclear activities, our correspondent says. Royce questioned what the objective of testing and developing such missiles was, if not to deliver a nuclear weapon. “I was doubtful that we were going to see a brand new Iran in the region”.
On Wednesday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps opened the doors of an underground missile base in order to show off the secret facility’s wares on state television.
The Emad (Assertiveness) surface-to-surface missile is said to be more precise than its predecessor, but details on weapons tests can not normally be verified as they take place without independent observers.
When the Assad regime began to slaughter its own citizens, Obama stood back and watched because he didn’t really care about it. When Russian Federation began to make a mockery of the United States, Obama stood back because he didn’t really care about it. When the entire US military (aside from his puppet generals) told him the Iraqi forces weren’t ready to take over, he stood back because he didn’t really care about it.
“The missiles in various ranges are mounted on the launchers in all bases and (are) ready to be launched”.

A senior commander of aerospace division claimed that the underground base is one of many missile bases in the country. In particular, they suggest that unlike North Korea, Iran is in no rush to build an ICBM.
