Prior to the video surfacing, the policeman had allegedly said the diplomat introduced himself and presented a pass to him.

A state-owned Russian television station showed a video Thursday of what it claims was a brawl between an alleged USA spy and a Russian security guard at an entrance to the American Embassy in Moscow.
Apparently shot from a CCTV camera across the street, the video shows a Taxi pulling off in front of the embassy and the man jumping out.
In the footage, the officer pinned the other person, described as a US diplomat, who is seen attempting to slide across the ground outside the embassy to make his way inside.
In previous incidents, diplomats claimed Russian security workers followed the children of former USA ambassador Michael McFaul as they went to school, and a Russian intruder broke into a US defense official’s home in Moscow and killed his dog, the Post reported.
He said: “We are extremely troubled by the way our employees have been treated over the past couple of years, and we have raised those concerns at the highest levels”. “Harassment and surveillance of our diplomatic personnel in Moscow by security personnel and traffic police have increased significantly and we find this absolutely unacceptable”.

Earlier, Kirby told a news briefing that a Russian policeman attacked an accredited U.S. diplomat as he was trying to enter the U.S. Embassy compound in Moscow on June 6. The Russian Embassy did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment. The initial report said that the diplomat suffered a broken shoulder in the attack and was flown out of Russian Federation to receive treatment.
