The public holiday that kick-starts the homestretch of frantic campaigning for the United States presidential election was dominated by two familiar questions – whether Donald Trump is stable enough, and whether Hillary Clinton is trustworthy enough, to run the country.

The Cleveland Airport offered a glimpse of how critical the fight for OH has become in the lead-up to the general election, as airplanes for both party nominees and their running mates passed each other on the tarmac Monday morning.

The Democratic nominee plans to take part in a Labor Day festival with union leaders and workers in Cleveland.

Donald Trump is telling reporters that his message to voters is going to be “all about jobs now”. He blamed the Obama administration for allowing companies to move jobs to Mexico. He also lashed out at the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership as “a catastrophe”.

Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, has been highly critical of Mexico.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says he’s not really planning on holding mock debates in order to prepare for a televised debate against Hillary Clinton.

The two campaigns arrived in Cleveland within hours of each other, underscoring Ohio’s role in presidential campaigns.

While travelling inside the “Trump Force One” might not be regular feature for the media, Trump said this he will do once in a while.

This pivotal month of campaigning culminates in the first presidential debate on September 26 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

Clinton attacked Trump’s labor stances in her speech, saying the GOP candidate hired union-busting firms for his business operations and “made a career” of stiffing workers.

Clinton said she was concerned about “credible reports about Russian government interference in our elections”, telling reporters traveling with her from OH to IL that “we are facing a very serious concern”.

“We’re going to make that decision into the future”, Trump told reporters in his most extensive comments on immigration since last week’s policy speech.

Labor Day is the traditional launch of the final campaign sprint towards Election Day. The emails, later revealed by WikiLeaks, showed some DNC officials favoring Clinton over her primary opponent, Bernie Sanders. On a sunny morning in Pittsburgh, Kaine and the man he hopes to succeed, Vice President Joe Biden, spoke at an outdoor rally before the city’s Labor Day parade, addressing a crowd that included many people in union T-shirts.

Highlighting the intensity of the fight for battleground states like Ohio, Trump was already on the ground in Cleveland for his own campaign events when Clinton landed, their planes parking about two football fields apart on the tarmac.

Clinton, who was President Barack Obama’s first-term secretary of state, appeared at few public campaign events during the latter half of August, instead raising funds at high-dollar events in the East Coast vacation spots of Martha’s Vineyard and the Hamptons, and with celebrities in Los Angeles and high-tech leaders in Silicon Valley.

Trump extended a rare invitation to a handful of reporters to join him on his private jet between campaign stops, while Clinton debuted her new campaign plane, riding with reporters for the first time since launching her 2016 bid for the White House.

She said his recent visit to Mexico led to “an embarrassing worldwide incident”. Although this question hasn’t been asked in every presidential election year, in CNN/ORC and CNN/USA Today/Gallup results dating back to 2000, this poll marks the first time that a significantly larger share of voters say they are less enthusiastic about this year’s election.
