South Korea’s Yonhap news agency recently reported that the country may seek to buy Raytheon SM-3 ballistic defense missiles from the U.S. as tensions rise with North Korea and in the broader Pacific region.

The U.N. sanctions do not directly address North Korean human rights abuses, but additional USA sanctions imposed in July do target individuals for their role in serious human rights violations, hunting down defectors or censorship in North Korea.
The two South Korean men met the North Korean in the Chinese city of Dandong, which borders North Korea, and conspired to smuggle two containers of tires into the North, prosecutors said.
Her comments came as both Koreas celebrated the anniversary of the peninsula’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule in 1945.

“Traitor Park should bear in mind that her desperate moves to escape ruin through terrible tongue-lashing and reckless confrontation will only precipitate the miserable end of her fate, cursed and censured by all Koreans”, the spokesman said in a statement. “I look forward to the visit”, Milley said.
