US official says can see way to a good Iran nuclear deal
Iran needs to satisfy the world that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful. Opposition to the upcoming deal remains strong inside the Islamic Republic as well, as fears linger that the negotiators would concede too much of Iran’s treasured nuclear advances.

The White House deflects criticisms that the potential deal would be ‘bad’ voiced by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials and experts, saying that it would be as good as it can be realistically expected and that it would significantly reduce the risk of Tehran rushing to obtain nuclear capability.
So the prospect of sanctions being a thing of the past, and a sudden outpouring of Iranian oil, has led some to predict it would push global oil prices lower.
The bill also demands that all sanctions imposed on Iran over its nuclear program be lifted as soon as one such deal comes into effect. Bargaining over a final deal intensified Monday when Britain and France reiterated that comprehensive inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities are essential to prove its nuclear activities don’t have military dimensions.
“WASHINGTON (EJP)–A group of influential former-US foreign policy and security officials, including five former members of President Obama’s inner circle of Iran advisors, published a joint letter warning that the current nuclear deal being discussed with Iran is ‘’inadequate’’, that it ‘’will not prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapons capability’’ and that ‘’it won’t require the dismantling of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure”.
In another sign Iran may be toughening its stance ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, Iran’s Guardian Council on Wednesday enacted legislation banning access to military sites and scientists, according to state TV.
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama conceded Wednesday that the US government had let down the families of Americans held hostage by terrorists and promised they wouldn’t face criminal prosecution for paying ransoms to their loved ones’ captors.
The draft document vows to provide Iran with light-water nuclear reactors to keep the country from using its almost-complete heavy-water facility at Arak, which would produce sufficient plutonium for several bombs a year.
“The Iranians are eager to bring back major oil players”, said Fereidun Fesharaki at consultancy Facts Global Energy.
“Other sanctions can be removed gradually by a reasonable timetable”, Khamenei said at a meeting that included Rouhani and hardline ex- president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The agreement must also establish strict limits on advanced centrifuge research and development, testing, and deployment in the first 10 years, and preclude the “rapid technical upgrade and expansion of Iran’s enrichment capacity after the initial ten-year period”. “I think the worldwide community would be pretty reluctant, frankly, to contemplate a ratcheting up further of the sanctions against Iran”, British Ambassador to the US Peter Westmacott said last month.

The plan was to stay in Vienna “until we get this done, or find out we can’t”. Khamenei, in comments broadcast on Iranian state television, also said Iran would sign a final deal only if all economic sanctions on the country were first lifted.
