Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna and Frederik Nielsen of Denmark won over Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic and Serbian Nenad Zimonjic with a hard fought 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-3.
Wozniacki was at one point 0-4 down and a point away from 0-5 in the first set against Kuznetsova, but came back to win 6-4 6-4 and reach the third round at a Grand Slam for the first time since Wimbledon previous year.
They need an hour and nine minutes to complete the victory at Court 4. They converted four out of eight break points won, while their opponents only won 2 from 9, which ultimately created the difference among two teams.
But Sania Mirza had no such problems in their women’s doubles second round match. After winning the second set to force a match-tiebreak, Paes and Hingis led 8-4 but squandered that lead to lose. They will now take on Lukasz Kubot of Poland and Alexander Peya of Austria in the second round.
Bopanna and Nielsen were broken twice before they conceded the first set 6-2.
Robert and Sela came back incredibly to win the match. They then held their serve before forcing another break to take the set and draw level.
With the help of a mini-break, the Indo-Danish pair werw up 3-0 in the tie-breaker only to commit lot of unforced errors before losing the match.
