Who do you think will win the 2016 PGA Championship (when it finally concludes)?

NOT A BAD DAY: Defending champion Jason Day was among the 10 who were completely washed out Saturday and are slated to play 36 holes today. The last time that happened was 2011. The golfers will play in the same groups as they did in round three. Kisner made his PGA Championship debut a year ago and missed the cut at 3-over 147.

Walker’s birdies put him at 13 under for the tournament.

“The golf course is susceptible to very low scoring, ” he said after his round.

Thirty-seven had completed their third rounds before the klaxon sounded to suspend play.

He said the course had so much water it was unplayable even if it stopped raining, and more rain overnight would make a 7 a.m. start unlikely. “So it was one of those days”.

Walker followed an opening 65 that had him in the lead alone after the first round with a 66 to be at 9 under with Streb. The 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black on Long Island also was forced to Monday by rain.

British Open champion Henrik Stenson and Brooks Koepka were another shot back. He shot 68 Saturday and stands at 1-under 209. It was just an average day, as I said.

Kerry Haigh, the PGA of America’s chief championships officer, said no consideration was given to Saturday’s play having a two-tee start with threesomes, which would have accelerated play and had more players finish. The final round is scheduled to begin at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, with the same pairings from the third round.

Thunderstorms that prevented leaders from starting the third round of the PGA Championship on Saturday set the stage for a weird finish at rain-swamped Baltusrol.

“Yeah, well, 20 under won the last major.

Ten contestants, including co-leaders Jimmy Walker and Robert Streb, did not tee off and faced the possibility of going 36 holes Sunday. Beem finished his morning round Saturday 2 over par, then switched from his golf shirt to his work shirt and resumed as an analyst for Britain’s Sky Sports. Thirteen of the first 22 players to play the hole made birdie and another one made eagle, while just one bogey was made.

Officials were hopeful that with no further weather delays, the tournament could be completed on time.

The fourth round of the PGA Championship will be played with the lift, clean and place rule in effect.

A bit of history could be made in the final round or two because the course has been made softer and somewhat easier. As a matter of fact, Mickelson shot 5-over on the first hole of every round but has been 6-under the rest of the weekend. Golf has the No. 62 in major championships.
