US Polls: Hillary Clinton’s lead over Donald Trump narrows to 4 points
Confidence in either US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump or his Democratic counterpart Hillary Clinton being a good president continues to remain low, as was the case earlier this year, according to a poll.

Hillary Clinton leaned into her plans to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans on Wednesday, denouncing Donald Trump’s tax proposals as a boondoggle for billionaires. Syrian refugees flood in. “Illegal immigrants convicted of committing crimes get to stay, collecting Social Security benefits, skipping the line”. But the real reason Trump is trailing Hillary Clinton by such a wide margin is key demographic groups that have traditionally voted for the Republicans are abandoning him. Two smiling families are shown, too, including an African-American family gazing at the American flag.
Winning blue-collar white men might not be enough – Greg Sargent (D): “Based on how this campaign has gone so far, there really might not be enough blue collar white men in America to elect Trump president, even if all of them come out to vote”. Trump praised Manafort’s work on the campaign and called him a “true professional”. When aides said no one would believe it, LBJ snapped, “I don’t care if they believe it, I just want to see if he’ll deny it”. If Clinton had paid Khan for his speech at the convention, why would she put her foundation’s name on the transfer? For the first time in his campaign, after insulting Republicans, women, Hispanics and more, Trump said he “regrets” inappropriate comments.
Trump’s campaign has promised to focus on more “themes”.
As bad as August has been for Donald Trump, one thing that must leave him at least a little relieved is his standing in the two most critical swing states: Florida and Ohio.
Trump told a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, Thursday night: “Sometimes in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don’t choose the right words or you say the wrong thing”.
“The tax system is the poster child for all of that”, said Frank Clemente, executive director of Americans for Tax Fairness, an advocacy organization. Clinton, by contrast, has spent more than $75 million on advertising in 10 states since locking up her party’s nomination, Trump’s new investment marks his first of the general election season.
Still, only about a third (31 per cent) said she would be a “good or great president”, while 22 per cent said would be average and 45 per cent think she would be a poor (12 per cent) or bad (33 per cent) president, Pew said. It underscored the dire situation he finds himself in with just 80 days left until the election.

Sabato, Kyle Kondik, and Geoffrey Skelley wrote in their report that Trump is enjoying a surge of support among blue-collar, white voters who did not graduate from college, but that backing is not stretching to New Hampshire, which has the fourth largest percentage of white college graduates in the United States.
