He thanked the “patriots” in the room for wanting to “Make America Great Again” with him.

Does he not understand the First Amendment also means freedom of the press? I saw one story recently where they said nine people have confirmed, there are no nine people, I don’t believe there was one or two people, nine people. “Nobody. Who uses it more than I do?” he quipped. But if you are part of the story you know if its true or not. A year later, he appeared at the annual gathering as president, and was greeted not by protests but by a rapturous crowd of supporters prepared to cheer his every sentence. Conference organizers said at the time that “his choice sends a clear message to conservatives”.

CNN reported that this isn’t Trump’s first time attending CPAC.

It’s unclear who exactly handed out the flags or whether they were distributed in support or protest of the Republican President – though several online reports suggest the flags were a prank. “They dropped off the word ‘fake.’ And all of a sudden the story became ‘the media is the enemy'”.

Trump on the media: “They have no sources”.

“Nobody’s going to mess with us, folks, nobody”, he said.

TRUMP: We’ll be taking in hundreds of billions of dollars from other countries that are screwing us. Trump and subordinates such as Kellyanne Conway and Steve Bannon have applied the label of “fake news” to virtually every mainstream news outlet, with the exception of Fox News.

“Basically all I have done is keep my promise”. He claimed he would bring jobs back to America, specifically calling out coal miners and saying the GOP would be “the party of the American worker”.

“If our presidents would have gone to the beach for 15 years the Middle East would have been in better shape”, he said.

The president then fumed over journalists who cite unnamed sources to try and impugn him.

Up next for the President is a nationally televised speech to the US Congress on Wednesday AEDT.

He also said the media should stop using the word “sources” and use the name of the actual people so that the story can be verified and we know there are actual people in the story.

As for the overall feel of this year’s CPAC, Jakubaskas said, “I think people are just really excited, but at the same time, the sense that I’ve gotten is people are also very cautious in terms of how hard it has been for President Trump to get what he wants done”.
