US rapper fined for indecent language charges in St. Kitts

America rapper 50 Cent was arrested here early Sunday following his performance at the St. Kitts Music festival late Saturday.

He apparently took things too far when he screamed the curse into the microphone in front of 40,000 fans, prompting local police to arrive and arrest him after the show.

Ruisi says festival organizers insisted he also perform and “there were profanities used during his performance”. “We’re told the DJ didn’t have a clean version of his set, and 50 didn’t pull the mic away from his mouth when he roared, ‘motherf–r”.

A police statement said 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, and a member of his entourage named Bajar Walter were arrested and charged after a Saturday night performance. Police showed up, arrested and booked 50 at the station and he will have to remain in the Carribean until Monday until he gets his court date.

Employees in the police department’s press office said they didn’t know what exact words were allegedly used during the performance. “There was a contract signed in which it was made very clear long before the arrival of the artists that there are laws in St. Kitts that do not take kindly to the use of indecent language on stage”, Information Minister Jacinth Henry Martin explained at the time.
