US Rep.: Terrorist Groups Trying to Enter US Through Refugee
McCaul said that the US government has information indicating persons tied to terror groups in Syria have tried to enter the USA using the refugee program.

Members of the Islamic State are trying to use the USA refugee program to enter the United States, said House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas).
According to The Hill, “McCaul would not say specifically who informed him and other lawmakers about the revelation, only describing the sources as ‘elements of the intelligence community'”. She publicly pledged her alliance to the Islamic State terror group before and after the massacre at a San Bernardino business complex.
The Syrian civil war has killed more than 200,000 people since it began in 2011, and forced more than 4 million refugees to flee.
“Those individuals who seek to enter the United States through the refugee resettlement program do so only after undergoing the most intensive screening of anybody who attempts to enter the United States.”
Over 30 governors have publically stated that they do not want Syrian refugees in their state even though President Obama has said that the United States will be taking in 10,000 Syrians next year.
“But I still think there needs to be a franker recognition that the U.S.is struggling with this issue overseas, and I don’t think he was completely forthright in noting that despite a withering air campaign that the Islamic State continues to hold big chunks in Iraq – including in Anbar province – and in Syria, in Raqqa, they’ve expanded into Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and other locations”, said Jones.
McCaul warned that the war has indeed come to America. As for the Islamic State, McCaul labeled the terrorist organization “more unsafe than al-Qaeda ever was under Osama bin Laden”.
“I will not tell you it’s an easy solution”, McCaul added during a question-and-answer session following his speech on the state of homeland security. On Monday, McCaul heavily criticized President Obama’s handling of the threat of the Islamic State, including the president’s Oval Office address on Sunday in regards to terrorism.
McCaul, said the FBI is investigating “nearly 1,000 homegrown terror cases” across the nation and that most can be traced to Islamic radicals, the Free Beacon reports. “Our success won’t depend on tough talk, or abandoning our values, or giving into fear”, he explained.
ISIL is an alternate acronym for ISIS.
On his speech, McCaul added that the threat represented by ISIS should not be underestimated.
During the event, McCaul also announced legislation to be introduced this week that will tighten the visa waiver program. “The reform is the only White House recommendation that Congress is likely to act on in the wake of the recent killings”, The Hill reported.

“In November”, McCaul said, “the group managed to conduct three major terrorist attacks on three separate continents in just three weeks”.
