US Republican Rand Paul suspends 2016 White House campaign
Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said he thinks Ted Cruz’s campaign’s “dirty tricks” may have affected the outcome of the Iowa caucuses.

“For Trump, he has to blame someone, something, anyone other than himself and his own record for his loss”, he said.
When asked if he would file a formal complaint over the caucuses’ results, Trump replied, “probably”. Cruz said in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday: “That was a mistake on our part and, as I said, my respect and admiration for Ben could not be higher”.
U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton waves to attendees after arriving for a campaign rally at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, New Hampshire February 2, 2016. “Reality just hit the reality star – he lost Iowa and now nobody is talking about him, so he’s popping off on Twitter”, Mr Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said in a statement.
“And finally, Cruz strongly told thousands of caucus-goers (voters) that Trump was strongly in favor of ObamaCare and “choice” – a total lie”, Trump wrote, before concluding the rant with an extraordinary demand.
The billionaire levelled the accusations against his GOP rival in a Twitter tirade on Wednesday, two days after finishing second to the ultraconservative senator from Texas.
Several social media users tweeted screengrabs of an alleged deleted tweet from Trump’s official account, in which he said Cruz had “illegally” stolen the vote. But Ted Cruz is convinced that it was key to his victory, so that means we can expect he’ll be saying it over and over again. Mr Trump holds big leads in opinion polls of Republicans in New Hampshire.
Cruz took his critique of Trump’s maturity a step further, comparing the reactionary Trump to his own daughters. “Since Iowa, no one is talking about Donald Trump”.
Trump came in second slightly ahead of Rubio, whose stronger-than-expected finish should help cement his status as the favourite of mainstream Republican voters who worry that Cruz and Trump are too caustic to win the general election.
