Trump’s remarks on Tuesday caused a firestorm, including among some Republicans, when he suggested that “Second Amendment people” – those who support gun rights – could take action to stop Clinton from appointing US Supreme Court justices as president.
Like Donald Trump earlier this week, Hillary Clinton went to MI to convince middle-class voters that her economic plan would bring them better jobs, higher wages and an economic vitality that even eight years after the recession eludes so many.
“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks”.
The Second Amendment guarantees the right to bear arms.
It’s a request Trump said he has no intention of honoring.
The differences between Clinton and Trump are stark and significant. “This is no longer about policy, civility, decency or even temperament”.
The comment also reportedly prompted the Secret Service to speak to the Trump campaign, though Trump denied any such conversation took place.
Hillary Clinton has sought to undercut Donald Trump’s appeal to working-class voters, claiming her Republican rival is untrustworthy on economic issues and pushes policies that would only benefit the super-wealthy – himself included.
Clinton blasted Trump on Wednesday, telling a crowd in Iowa that Trump’s “casual inciting of violence” showed he was unfit to be president.
DONALD TRUMP: Nobody in that room thought anything other than what you just said. Where would the money come from for infrastructure investments and to encourage manufacturers to make their products in the United States? “Nobody who is seeking a leadership position, especially the presidency, the leadership of the country, should do anything to countenance violence, and that’s what he was saying”. “The rhetoric is the candidate”. He had tried clearing the air and explaining his side on Wednesday afternoon, but Clinton was one of many Democrats who still too great exception to Trump’s comments.
Critics, including 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, have blasted Trump for failing to disclose his tax rate and raised questions about what his returns say about his net worth as well as his various business ties, particularly in Russian Federation.
The Clinton campaign has made it a point to remind the US that Trump has not released his returns. “I know that’s true – I did it as first lady, senator and secretary of state”, Clinton said.
Mrs Clinton once called the TPP the “gold standard” of trade deals when she served as Barack Obama’s secretary of state but announced her opposition to the deal a year ago, saying it did not meet her standard for creating jobs, raising wages and protecting national security.
