US Sen. Merkley says Democrats must unite
There was some indication that Hillary Clinton’s status as the presumptive nominee was having an effect. Most were already selected at Congressional district caucuses in May. Clinton now has 2,800 delegates.

The national delegate count stands at 23 for Clinton and 21 for Sanders.
“It is no secret that Secretary Clinton and I have strong disagreements on some very important issues”, he said.
“In time”, Neiderbach said. “And it would be helpful if the Republicans could help us a bit”, Trump added.
In his remarks, Sanders told his supporters he hoped his campaign’s “political revolution” would continue beyond his singular fight for the Democratic Party’s nomination. He cited “voter suppression” and irregularities in states like New York, Arizona and Kentucky. “And I think it’s a great thing, but in this country this will never pass”.
While Clinton supporters are optimistic that Sanders’ supporters will join them in the general election campaign, they say the jury is still out.
“He makes such awful statements that I think it will be ‘Anybody but Trump, ‘” said former Iowa Senate President Jack Kibbie of Emmetsburg.
What has also worked well for the Clinton campaign has been the use of social media, Elrod said, which will be a key tool going forward.
For some Sanders supporters, though, it’s more than just putting a Democrat in the White House.
“Those two issues would help the lower income people a lot”, she said.
After the attack, Clinton gave a speech at a company that manufactures military helmets and other safety equipment in Cleveland, calling for unity and outreach to Muslims in the wake of the attacks while urging stricter gun-control measures. “The point is you’ve got to all come together when it’s over or the party won’t be able to function very well in the fall”. “Now it’s time for us to come together to win up and down the ballot this November”. Clinton eked out a 49.9 percent to 49.6 percent victory over Sanders in the Iowa precinct caucuses.
As a result, Clinton captured the majority of New Mexico’s pledged delegates for the Democratic National Convention, which will be held next month in Philadelphia.
“There’s a tremendous amount of people who have been engaged through this campaign and I think people are going to continue to be involved”, Schlosberg said. “We need to unite all Democrats because we’re all built on the same ideals and we have the same beliefs and values and passions”.
State parities don’t usually endorse candidates before the National Convention. On Sunday, the remaining 34 national delegates and eight alternates to the Democratic National Convention will be elected.
“Clinton and Sanders are both progressive Democrats”.

So the reluctance of some Sanders’ supporters to accept the loss frustrates many Clinton supporters.
