It’s OK, Galen Rupp is still headed to Rio.

Then he won the 10,000 meters at the U.S. Track and Field Trials in Eugene last week.

LaShawn Merritt would not say whether he, like Felix, would try for the 200-400m double in Rio.

Junior Jordan Moore, the 2016 SEC Outdoor Champion, and former Tiger standout Ryan Fontenot both advanced to the semifinal round of the men’s 110-meter hurdles on time when Fontenot clocked the eighth-best time of the day at 13.67 (-1.2) and Moore followed with the 12-fastest time of the prelims at 13.72 (-1.2).

Rupp said he was trying to draw the race out to help out Nike Oregon Project teammate Eric Jenkins, who finished fourth and didn’t make the team.

“That’s the way it goes”.

“This year, I was just focused on track, I didn’t do too much football”, Allen said.

“I know that most people come back to this being the fairest way to produce the best athletes, especially with an extremely deep talent pool that we have here”, Siegel said. “I’m going to go through anger, more disbelief”.

He jumped a fence and started hugging friends and family in the stands at his collegiate track, Hayward Field, which is hosting the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials.

Malone hails from tiny town of Geneva, Nebraska, a tiny town southwest of Lincoln. I’ve seen it happen to others, but one one-hundredth? If he can throw the distance he threw in the prelims on Thursday at the Olympics he has a chance for a medal. Jason Richardson, the silver medalist in London, finished fifth.

What a Saturday afternoon/evening it was on the track in OR for athletes with Arizona ties as they looked to qualify to represent the United States in the 2016 Olympics in Rio. And I’m glad that they could come and be here. I’ve won Olympic games, broken the world record. “I’m just looking forward to advancing round by round”, he said. That victory earned him at least one appearance at the Rio Games. Kristi Castlin (12.50) and Nia Ali (12.55) also made the team bound for Rio.

HURDLES WIN: Rollins stepped ever so slightly into an adjacent lane late in the 100-meter hurdles race but didn’t impede fourth-place finisher Queen Harrison, so there was no protest, and no change in the results.

Joining Lagat at 5,000 meters are Hassan Mead and Paul Chelimo.

Galen Rupp, also a former Ducks athlete, finished ninth with a time of 13:41.09. Gatlin won the 200-meter final in 19.75 seconds. Blankenship, surrounded in his semifinal heat by most of the nation’s best “metric milers”, went out fast, took the lead on the second lap and never relented, winning in 3:44.24.

Also in Sunday’s final: Deajah Stevens, Jenna Prandini, Gabrielle Thomas, Ariana Washington, Tiffany Townsend and Jeneba Tarmoh. He faded to fifth place in a time of 8 minutes, 30.03 seconds.

Collegian Devon Allen was the surprise victor in 13.03 seconds with Ronnie Ash and Jeff Porter taking the other two places, each clocking 13.21. “But it was a solid round”, said Merritt, who underwent a kidney transplant last September. David first grabbed attention after he nabbed the NCAA U.S. hurdles title in 2014, and is a promising pick for Team USA.
