US TV ratings for Clinton speech lower than Trump’s

“Powerful forces are threatening to pull us apart”, she said.

“It is with humility determination and boundless confidence in America’s promise that I accept your nomination”, Clinton said at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Philadelphia.

“And we’ll build a path to citizenship for millions of immigrants who are already contributing to our economy”.

“If Bernie is not the Democratic nominee, then I will certainly leave the Democrat party”, one Sanders supporter said.

“Hillary Clinton talks about unity, about E Pluribus Unum, but her globalist agenda denies American citizens the protections to which they are all entitled – tearing us apart”.

She also made a point to reach out to white, working class voters, a group she’s now struggling with the most in this election.

“A country where all our children can dream and those dreams are within reach”.

She also acknowledged the historical nature of the occasion, saying that her nomination should give hope to girls and women everywhere that their dreams can be achieved.

Another South Asian element in her speech was a tribute to Army Captain Humayun Khan, a 27-year-old Pakistani-American army man killed in 2004 in Iraq trying to save his soldiers from a vehicle bomb.

“Donald Trump says, and this is a quote, “I know more about ISIS than the generals do”, Clinton said”.

Clinton is now expected to start nationwide campaigns before engaging in public debates with Donald Trump, who trashed her speech. Given the turbulence and terrorism across the globe, she said Americans are “looking for steady leadership”.

“I get it that some people just don’t know what to make of me”, Clinton said.

But Trump tweeted that the speech had failed to address the threat posed by radical Islam, making the former secretary of state unfit to lead the country. She reminded them of what Obama said the night before, “Don’t boo”. “But here’s the sad truth: There is no other Donald Trump. This is it”. “Our way of life is under threat by radical Islam and Hillary Clinton can not even bring herself to say the words”.

Trump did say those words when explaining why he thinks he is the best candidate for president. And there’s the whole Clinton family back on that stage again.
