US Vice President Biden to visit Turkey -White House
The operations are part of the government’s investigation into the movement led by US-based Islamic cleric Fethullah Gulen.

His visit comes amid strained relations between the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies following the July 15 failed coup bid in Turkey.

Turkey pushed back Saturday at the UN’s top human rights official, who said this week that Ankara should rein in a “thirst for revenge” in the aftermath of the coup.
Turkish foreign ministry spokesman Tanju Bilgic, in a statement, said Zeid’s comments were unacceptable.
Still, the scope of the security sweep now appears to be worrying even some in the ruling, Islamist-rooted AK Party.
“Even if the shock absorber of a vehicle breaks down, they say someone with [the Gulenists] has done this”.
