USA attorney general defends decision on Clinton email probe
“If Attorney General Lynch doesn’t want to answer questions about the investigation, then she should have appointed a special prosecutor at the start of the investigation”, Goodlatte said, adding, “The American people deserve transparency about this investigation”.

The attorney general said repeatedly that “it would be inappropriate for me to comment further”, and she stuck to that position despite repeated challenges from Republicans during the 4½-hour hearing.
FBI Director James Comey told a congressional hearing last week he recommended against charging Clinton because there was insufficient evidence that she acted with bad intent.
Our Attorney General now insists that she made a mistake and to atone for this mistake will now abide by what the Federal Bureau of Investigation and her staff comes up with.
Republicans repeatedly asked Lynch about the private meeting she had with Bill Clinton on the Phoenix airport tarmac days before the FBI concluded its yearlong investigation last week.
Despite the lack of criminal charges or a grand jury indictment, the FBI’s investigation did exposed presidential wannabe Hillary Clinton’s repeated and flagrant dishonesty and lack of good judgement expected of a Commander in Chief.
Lynch accepted the recommendation from the FBI and from her prosecutors, and closed out the investigation without charges.
The last time Trump came close to Clinton’s popularity was in early May, when his last two rivals for the Republican nomination dropped out of the race and party leaders started to line up behind his campaign.
Lynch’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee comes a day after House Republicans formally asked the Department of Justice and the FBI to investigate whether Clinton had lied to Congress last fall when she said she did not have classified information on her server. “I turned over all work related emails …’ – were found to be lies as a result of the FBI’s investigation” said Goodlatte.
He cited Comey’s comments to back up Clinton’s own statements that she used the server simply as a matter of convenience.
“Every individual whether they are a former Secretary or anyone else, has to be reviewed with the facts and the law there”, she said.
Lynch is testifying Tuesday before the House Judiciary Committee following a week of violence that brought that issue to the forefront.
The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee is questioning the Justice Department’s decision not to prosecute Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server.
“I refer you to Director Comey’s discussion for that”, she said at one point.
Also Tuesday, Clinton lawyer David Kendall said in a court filing that it would be “futile” for a federal judge to order Clinton to answer questions under oath about her use of the private system.
Judicial Watch has deposed seven current and former State Department employees in the lawsuit.

On July 8, under-secretary for management Patrick Kennedy – who also was deposed in the case – asked Mr Comey to provide the previously-unreleased messaged to the State Department.
