USA condemns ‘terror attacks’ on Israeli civilians

The violence began on October 1, when an alleged Hamas cell shot dead a Jewish settler couple in the West Bank in front of their children.

The attacks have caused a sense of panic across Israel and raised fears that the region is on the cusp of a new round of heavy violence. He said “the violence of Israeli occupation and colonization” lie at the root.

The Jerusalem attacks, coupled with a pair of stabbing attacks in the central Israeli city of Raanana that injured five, came in rapid succession.

Two Israelis were killed, including a 60-year-old, while around 10 others were wounded, medics and police said. The second attacker was subdued by a crowd.

Two men, identified by police as Palestinians from the Jabel Mukaber neighborhood of eastern Jerusalem, attacked passengers on an Egged bus in East Talpiot, killing a man in his 60s. Police said the attacker, who worked for Israel’s largest telecommunications group Bezeq and used his company vehicle in the attack, later died of his wounds.

On Tuesday, Palestinian social media was alight with a video of a 13-year-old Palestinian boy who was run over after stabbing and critically wounding an Israeli boy the same age.
