An early morning fire at Bill Clinton’s birthplace is being investigated as arson. The building, which is designated a National Historic Site, was heavily damaged.
There are no further details from governmental agencies about the nature of the threat.

Beijing described the incident as a terrorist attack.

Beijing is generally safe and criminals rarely target travellers, although the fashionable Sanlitun bar and restaurant district occasionally sees fights. “Outside of Xinjiang you should be vigilant when transiting public transport hubs, which have been the subject of recent attacks”.
