The 20-year-old Washington state mall shooting suspect said nothing and appeared “zombie-like” when he was arrested, U.S. police have said.

Cetin, held in Skagit County jail on Sunday, has not been formally charged, according to Sgt. Mark Francis, a state patrol spokesman.

The newspaper reports Cetin was also arrested for drunk-driving.

No evidence pointed to terrorism, Michael Knutson, assistant special agent in charge of the Seattle FBI, said at the news conference late Saturday night.

The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Arcan Cetin of Oak Harbor, Wash., was taken into custody around 7 p.m. PT Saturday in Oak Harbor, roughly 29 miles southwest of Burlington.

A neighbor of Cetin who also went to high school with him characterized him as “creepy, rude and obnoxious” and said he used social media to send her a picture of his crotch.

The statement says the 64-year-old Galde “was an amazingly kind and caring individual” who helped thousands of probationers find a better way to live.

“We believe at this point one lone shooter”, Francis said.

Arcan Cetin was spotted from an Island County patrol vehicle on Saturday evening in Oak Harbor, Washington, and immediately recognised as the man suspected of killed five people at the Cascade Mall in nearby Burlington. He will appear Monday in the county’s district court.

Island County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Hawley said he spotted Cetin from a patrol auto in Oak Harbor, Washington, and immediately recognized him as the suspect who killed five people at the Cascade Mall in nearby Burlington.

The identity of the final victim, a male who died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, was reported The Seattle Times to be Chuck Eagan. The victims’ names and ages have not been released.

On Saturday evening, Cammock said, police still did not have a motive for the shooting, but were not ruling anything out.

“At this time, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has no information to suggest additional attacks planned in WA state”, the Washington State Patrol said on Twitter.

Cetin – an immigrant from Turkey – is a legal permanent resident of the United States and lives in Oak Harbor, according to police.

He said Saturday that he saw people running and a woman told them to evacuate.

Surveillance video from the mall in Burlington, around 65 miles (105 km) north of Seattle, showed the gunman brandishing the weapon, police said. Steve Sexton, the mayor of Burlington, described the shooting as a “senseless act”.

Washington state governor Jay Inslee joined law enforcement officers at a press conference Saturday night in Mount Vernon to talk about the deadly shooting incident. It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were hurt.

Authorities say Cetin brought a “hunting style” weapon into Macy’s and opened fire. The shooting comes less than a week after a man stabbed nine people at a mall in the central Minnesota city of St. Cloud before being shot dead by an off-duty police officer. On Saturday, dozens of people attended a prayer service for the victims.
