The 10-part series is based on the best-selling novel Point of Impact, by Stephen Hunter, and the 2007 film starring Mark Wahlberg.

United States of America is postponing the premiere of its series Shooter following last week’s shooting in Dallas that left five police officers dead, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the postponement. Understandably, these images are probably going to be viewed differently by some audiences, not only in the wake of what occurred in Dallas but perhaps due to all the recent mass shootings.
The news comes just weeks after TNT opted to delay the season three premiere of The Last Ship.
In 2015, U.S. also delayed the Season 1 finale of Mr. Robot because of a graphic scene similar to real-life events that were broadcast on a Virginia television station in which a reporter and cameraman were fatally shot during a live segment.
An American television drama about a sniper, played by Ryan Phillippe, is to air later than planned following the deadly shootings in Dallas last week. The pilot was written by John Hlavin who is also an executive producer and Simon Cellan Jones is credited with directing the pilot.
Others casted in the drama include Cynthia Assai-Robinson, Shantel Vansanten, Eddie McClintock, Omar Epps and of course, Ryan Phillipe as Bob Lee Swagger.
