USA students stage walkouts to protest gun violence
Perri said a walkout organizer walked into the classroom to announce that the protest was beginning.

Students gathered in front of the flagpole at Gov. Mifflin High School Wednesday morning. She commented that site principals worked with their staffs in order to come up with activities that students could participate in during the 17 minutes. The school’s band played the national anthem as the flag was raised.
After the march, the students held a conversation after reading comments about their march. He said the students observed 17 minutes of silence, and that they would not be disciplined. Students organized an assembly to talk about gun control in response to the Parkland shooting.
“The whole idea that armed security makes us less safe is completely ridiculous”. “I don’t want them to feel insignificant”.
“You feel so shaken by it because it’s just a powerful thing”, Karleigh Patton, a 15-year-old freshman, said of the shooting. When’s the next school shooting? “I did shed some tears because it was really emotionally and heartbreaking”, said Antioch High junior, Amanda Arias.
“Enough is enough”, the students chanted.
More than 100 students tried to walk out of class at Valley High School Thursday.
Some Antioch High School students jumped on a cop auto Wednesday during what was supposed to be a peaceful demonstration for action on gun laws, according to police.
While lying on their backs to remember people that lost their lives students held signs that said “Never Again” or “Enough”. Most fell somewhere in the middle.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, virtually all of the demonstrations were “grassroots” efforts and student-run.
McDowell Early College announced a walkout is scheduled for today at 2 p.m.
Some schools are threatening to punish their students for protesting. Senior Tobias Arreola says he is encouraging his peers to take part in a march that will show solidarity with others marching in the March For Our Lives Rally, scheduled to take part in Washington, D.C. “And so, that’s why we’re not going to be participating in some sort of a walkout”.
In Red Lake, the walkout carried deep significance.
Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper on the steps of the Capitol as he addressed the students that streamed in East High School and other area Denver-area schools during National Walkout Day. He had murdered his grandfather and grandfather’s girlfriend before heading to the school. “Our adults, those who are supposed to stand up for us students, are supposed to represent us, have failed us. You don’t know who you might be affecting and I just want to encourage everyone to think first before you react in a way that changes someone’s life”.

Last week, MPS Superintendent Ed Graff sent a letter to families about creating “a space for students” during the walkout, emphasizing they should not leave school property. “This needs to be their voice, right?”
