USA to target ISIS with expeditionary force in Iraq, Syria
Protection Secretary Ash Carter said Tuesday the us military will send a particular expeditionary focusing on power to Iraq to dispatch one-sided assaults and “put considerably more weight” on ISIS.

Carter said the Pentagon is “prepared to expand” the role of these troops in Syria.
Many blame the current chronic instability, cycle of violence, and the emergence of extremist groups such as the IS on the United States, which invaded Iraq in March 2003 under the pretext of seeking to destroy weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in the country. “A huge number of USA work force are working in the more extensive Middle East area, and more are en route”.
Kerry said that the move to deploy Special Forces was not new but an extension of previous agreements with Iraq. “The global community, including our allies and partners, has to step up before another attack like Paris”.
Iraq’s prime minister has defended his country’s security forces, saying they’re capable of defeating the Islamic State group without the help of foreign combat troops.
Defense officials said the number of special operations forces and where they will be deployed in Iraq has yet to be determined.
The official said the force’s remit would include targeted assassinations of senior ISIS if their specific mission requires. “This force will also be in a position to conduct unilateral operations into Syria”, he added.
The presence of American ground forces is a contentious issue in Iraq, where the United States fought a almost nine-year war, and it is politically expedient for Abadi to distance himself from the deployment.
“In the midterm, if ISIS is allowed to maintain this space, they’ll have the time to plot against us”, he said. “They will help us garner valuable ground intelligence, further enhance our air campaign and, above all, enable local forces that can regain and then hold territory occupied by ISIL”.
What Abadi opposes, Earnest said, are calls in Congress for 10,000 or more USA combat forces – something, he said, the president opposes, too.
Carter’s announcement came amid the White House’s repeated objection to sending ground troops to Syria and Iraq.
He noted that about 3,500 USA troops are operating at six locations in Iraq in support of the ISF.
According to U.S. News and World Report, Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, testified alongside Carter that the force’s principal responsibility will be to increase U.S. intelligence for the region and the Islamic State’s activities.

When asked about the president’s comment, Warren said there’s a distinction between combat raids and ground combat like the invasion of Iraq.
