However, the FOX affiliate out of Salt Lake City is reporting that Masina, a Utah native, is being investigated over sexual assault allegations.

Investigators from the Los Angeles police department were on campus last week and are working with Cottonwood Heights police on the investigation, said Cottonwood Heights Police Sgt. Dan Bartlett.
In addition to the assault investigation in Utah, Masina is also under investigation for assault in Los Angeles, according to Kim Fischer of ABC4 in Utah.
Osa Masina will not be traveling with USC as the Trojans head to Dallas to face No. 1 Alabama this weekend. No charges have been filed against Masina, and he has not been arrested, but there is a search warrant has been issued in the Cottonwood Heights case. He made 25 tackles and a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown.
The Los Angeles Police Department did not immediately reply to an inquiry seeking more information about the California-based investigation.
After a solid freshman season as a back up linebacker, Masina looked primed to increase his role in 2016. Hutchings ended up winning the starting job over Masina.

In a statement, a USC spokesperson said the school was aware of the investigation involving Masina. Masina’s attorney, Greg Skordas, confirmed to ESPN that there are two ongoing investigations. USC is cooperating fully with authorities in Utah, the lead agency in the investigation. “Due to privacy laws and to protect the rights of our students, we are not able to discuss this matter”.
