Noughties RnB king Usher was surrounded by famous friends as he celebrated the addition of his name, and his own star, to Hollywood’s Walk Of Fame.

Usher was honored with a star on the Walk Of Fame during a special ceremony by the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood, CA on Wednesday (Sept. 7). Lewis referenced how Usher has always “worked tirelessly” and possesses the ability to “understand concepts quickly”.
But the eight-time Grammy victor singled out his mother, Jonetta Patton, for special thanks when he accepted the prestigious accolade. His mother entered him into local singing competitions at the age of 12 where he caught the attention of the brother of L.A. Reid, R&B producer and co-president of LaFace Records, according to the International Movie Database.
“Mom, thank you for everything and all the people that you’ve actually helped to bring here”, expressed Raymond during his speech according to Billboard. “They wouldn’t be here if you didn’t recognise and make sure you selected the right people to be around and to help me be the man I am today and in this position”. “We are so proud of you and love you!” “Thank you for giving me that life lesson”. “It is because of you that this shining star will be here and I leave it up to you-it’s your responsibility-to come down here every chance you get to shine my star”, he joked to fans.
The eight-time Grammy Award-winner will receive the 2,588th star on the legendary strip for his services to the recording industry, an honour that comes a week ahead of the release of his latest album, Hard To Love.

The ceremony, right off of Hollywood Blvd., was attended by other musicians including Stevie Wonder, will.i.am, Miguel, and Kelly Rowland, but it was those who went before them to whom Usher paid tribute.
