Utah Utes Expose Oregon Ducks, and It’s Not Pretty
The loss most likely will knock Oregon out of the College Football Playoff race, giving the Ute’s their first win at Autzen Stadium since 1994, improving to 2-3 all-time verse ranked Oregon teams with the victory. Defensive end Pita Taumoepenu had two of Utah’s five sacks.

So obviously nothing went well for the home team, but now the question is, where do they go from here?
The Ducks were run over, through and around to the tune of 273 yards and two touchdowns.
Utah running back Devonte Booker, who came into the game averaging 115 yards per game and had four touchdowns on the year, was kept quiet throughout much of the game, held to 98 yards and 0 touchdowns. “I am so proud of Travis and what he’s done”.
Who Stood Out: Freeman accounted for 123 all-purpose yards, rushing 14 times for 77 yards and catching two passes for 46 yards and a touchdown.Bralon Addison caught three passes for 31 yards and a score.
Oregon needs an identity on offense and defense.
It appears Mark Helfrich and Kyle Whittingham were the only coaches paying attention to what happened on Saturday night at Autzen Stadium. “That is a talented team, a veteran team, and we did not play well”. We’ve got eight Thursday nights and Friday nights every year that we’ll play and then Saturdays obviously we’ve got several different slots. “We had too many mistakes”. Even running back Devontae Booker got in on the game and threw a touchdown pass to Covey.
There were those who figured 18th-ranked Utah could give 13th-ranked Oregon all it could handle in a matchup of two of the Pac-12’s premier teams.
After the game, Utah quarterback Travis Wilson said, “It felt fantastic”.
Already trailing the No. 18 Utes by 35 points late in the third quarter, the No. 13 Ducks were forced to punt from their own 35-yard-line.
This game was so one-sided that Utah’s fake punt, which resulted in a first down, with the Utes up 41-13, nearly seemed unsportsmanlike. They kicked field goals to take a 6-0 lead. The Ducks attempted a two-point conversion but failed.
“It’s unreal”, Wilson would say later, the eye black on his face faintly smeared.
This past weekend marked the first inter-conference games for the majority of Pac-12 teams. The Eastern Washington transfer completed just 2-of-7 attempts before leaving.

UA has now defeated Oregon in consecutive matches, ending a stretch in which Oregon had won six of seven vs. the Cats. S Juwaan Williams also made his first career start for Oregon…. Just as the Utes were absolutely fooled-as were the TV cameras when Clay’s drop at the 1 and fumble was returned for an Oregon touchdown previous year, the tables were turned on Oregon Saturday at the end of the third quarter. You also have to go back at least a decade to find a loss as lopsided as this one for the Ducks. Even so, the Sun Devils really miss the talents of now-NFL WR Jaelen Strong on the outside and Bercovici hasn’t recaptured the magic he showed as an injury replacement last season.
