We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jennifer Lambourne who was a beloved teacher, friend and member of the Jordan School District family. Soon afterwards, the 8-year-old fell off the inflatable toy and into the water. The 37-year-old woman died at the hospital. Other family members and people in the area also assisted in the rescue efforts. Jennifer reached the 8-year-old and worked to keep her afloat but Jennifer eventually went under the water. Efforts to revive Jennifer were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office didn’t immediately return a call from The Associated Press on Thursday.

The Jordan School District in Utah says Jennifer Lambourne of South Jordan taught at Eastlake Elementary and her daughter, Brooklyn, would have been entering sixth grade at the school.
