Only three of the best-value colleges are private: Berea, Brigham Young University in Utah, and Brigham Young University-Idaho. Our sights are set directly on ROI: “What are students getting out of college?”
“We appreciate the recognition for our faculty, staff and students”. Among public institutions on the list, excluding military academies, the University of California, Berkeley (35 overall) took the top spot followed by the University of Virginia (36) and William & Mary.
“Less than 15 percent of the almost 4,400 colleges and universities nationwide are included in “Forbes” eighth annual ranking”, the King’s statement noted, adding that it “is is the only Luzerne County college or university included in the list”. The earnings of graduates are not even on the list of indicators used to create those rankings, except perhaps indirectly, as reflected in alumni giving and surveys of academic reputation. “This ranking is a product of their efforts and I congratulate them on this accomplishment”. Although only advancing five spots from last year’s report, the school made major progress since the 2013 rankings, in which CNU was ranked 416th.
“While the cost of U.S. higher education escalates, there’s a genuine silver lining in play”, says Forbes’ Caroline Howard in her release of the America’s Top Colleges 2015 list.
