As the world tries to heal from the wounds of Silent Hills’ cancellation and what could have been, collaborative director Guillermo del Toro has name dropped another huge creative talent that was almost a part of the dream-team. “Junji Ito, undisputed master of horror in Japan (along with Hino and Tsubaki) and our collaborator in Silent Hill (s)”, he said in a message accompanied by the creepy image below. Silent Hills is no more, and the world can only sit and wonder for the rest of their lives. These links leave Siliconera.

For those that do not know Ito’s work, one example of his horror manga is Uzumaki, which tells the story of citizens that are plagued by a supernatural curse that involves spirals. Guillermo has been known for his great films such as Hellboy, Crimson Peak, The Strain, Pan’s Labyrinth and Pacific Rim. However, Guillermo has stated that he is still in touch with Kojima, hopefully making a new collaboration project in the future.
