Vacation over, Obama looking at ways to reduce gun violence

On Fox News, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie piled on to the president as well, calling Mr. Obama “a petulant child” who reverts to executive actions “whenever he can’t get what he wants”.

In the midst of what he has called “our epidemic of gun violence”, President Obama is contemplating using executive action to enforce more stringent regulations on firearm purchases – a move necessary in order to eschew Congress. And unsurprisingly, 2016 G.O.P. presidential candidates are piping up to condemn this move.

Since I first brought his struggles up in a recent article, he’s only had a few solid games while the rest have been sub-par. The Portland Trail Blazers were coming off an 0-5 road trip and were without All-Star point guard Damian Lillard .

South Korea presidential office seeks understanding of Japan deal
More than 70 years after the end of World War II, Japan and South Korea have reached an agreement about a bitter piece of shared history.

The White House had previously said that the Justice Department was examining potential unilateral action Obama could take on gun control and make its own recommendation. Real estate mogul Donald Trump, the GOP front-runner in the race for the White House, promised he would “unsign” the actions if he were elected president.

But gun control advocacy groups say some of the people who sell firearms at gun shows are not federally licensed, increasing the chance of sales to customers prohibited by law from purchasing guns. “And to use executive powers he doesn’t have is a pattern that is quite risky”.

Congress would still need to act in order to make background checks universal.

Mr. Sanders, a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, has in the past shown less enthusiasm than most liberals for gun control measures as an independent who represents a pro-Second Amendment state.

“I don’t see that it’s going to take the guns away from the dishonest or the people that will cause the most damage”, said Holleman.

Democrat Hillary Clinton, who has already proposed an executive action to close the gun show loophole, cheered Obama’s plans.

“Each time, we’re told that commonsense reforms like background checks might not have stopped the last massacre, or the one before that, so we shouldn’t do anything”, the president said.

“When the president starts talking about gun control, restrictions, that’s always a big indicator that we are going to be very busy”, said sales associate Rick Holleman.

“We know that we can’t stop every act of violence”, the president said.

“Americans, even since San Bernardino, have said they do favor gun ownership”, Professor McLennan said.

In the address, Obama admitted that his grappling with congressional backing on what he calls “common sense gun laws” was and is his greatest frustration during the Presidency.

With the struggles of a massive population and a majority of the population clinging to one constitutional clause that they must absolutely have a gun, the United States could not possibly recall the guns and expect an easy win.
