Despite a recent report that alleged Val Kilmer was dead from throat tumor complications, we’re happy to report the actor is alive and well!

In January he was rushed to hospital from his home in Los Angeles, with a rep later confirming that he was “undergoing tests at a Los Angeles hospital for a possible tumor”.

Putting fans at ease, Kilmer took to Facebook on Thursday night and explained why he’d been at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles this week. It is unusual for anyone to have a check up in an intensive care situation. I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the UCLA ICU’.

Kilmer has rapidly lost weight in recent months and has taken to wearing tightly-wrapped scarves year-round in order to hide his tumor.

Following previous reports saying the actor had a throat tumor, Radar Online blasted out a story this week claiming the “Batman Forever” alum was admitted to an LA hospital and was unable to speak.

It’s been rumored that Kilmer initially refused traditional medical treatment in compliance with his beliefs as a Christian Scientist.

“I am having a grand time”. And I should mention I do not have cancer or a tumor.

Kilmer was seen on January 16 with a scarf around his neck during a Lakers game which he attended with his son Jack – just two weeks before he was first hospitalized.

“There has been a swelling that I have covered during this period of recovery from a procedure I had done which was not an operation on this area”, Kilmer’s June statement read.
