Val Kilmer Will Return for Top Gun 2!
Just minutes ago, a presumably red-faced Kilmer clarified his original post, confirming that these were just theoretical things that would make him do a movie without reading a script. What’s more, Kilmer seemed to suggest that Coppola would reunite with his frequent collaborator Gene Hackman on the planned Top Gun sequel. “Yes!” Jerry Bruckheimer and Tom Cruise!!! “Yes.” We will all miss Tony Scott one of the kindest gentlemen I’ve ever met in the film biz, but let’s fire up a few fighter jets again!!!”

I knew that one day, the countless hours spent refreshing Val Kilmer’s Facebook page would pay off. While most of the world hunkered down for the sweet slumber of an innocent soul, Kilmer was awake and crushing the social media game.
Now, before you read that and get too excited, no, Francis Ford Coppola is not directing Top Gun 2.
“These were examples of what u say yes to”. They are not involved.
Top Gun 2 has been in the works for quite sometime. Scott was interested in returning to the director’s chair himself prior to his tragic passing. It was directed by Tony Scott, who passed away in 2012. This put the movie on indefinite hold.
The original film, which starred Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer, was a major success in the U.S., launching Cruise into the Hollywood A-list.
“The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones?”.

We can already imagine Gene as a tough commander over Tom Cruise’s Maverick, whose ego we hope is still writing cheques his body can’t cash. “They’re here to stay”, Bruckheimer said.
