Valdes Wants Man Utd Exit

Gines Carvajal admits Valdes would like to remain in the Premier League, with Newcastle United and Liverpool among clubs keen.

However, whilst United would prefer to lose the keeper to a club outside of England, The Evening Standard quotes the player’s agent as confirming Valdes wants to join another Premier League side.

Valdes has had a horrid time in Manchester ever since his move as a free agent after leaving Barcelona.

Valdes has not featured for United this season under Louis van Gaal, the Dutch manager even placing unproven youngster Sam Johnstone ahead of the World Cup victor.

However, it has been claimed that United are reluctant to release Valdes unless he agrees to move overseas.

Phil Neville has said that he is expecting a “tight, tense affair” when Manchester United host Manchester City in the Premier League. His current contract expires in the summer but he has been twiddling his thumbs for most of his stay at Old Trafford.

“The Premier League is attractive, he is adapted there so possibly he is going to stay in the Premier League but I don’t close doors anywhere”.

He has now been tipped to head away from Manchester United in the winter transfer window as he seeks to get his career back on track.

Karl Darlow, who signed for the Magpies for an undisclosed fee a year ago, is also out injured.

Valdes has been banished by Van Gaal after apparently refusing to play for the club’s reserves last season. There are a lot of other aspects in the philosophy how you have to play like a goalkeeper at Manchester United.
