It is widely expected that Manchester United will be dispensing with the services of manager Louis van Gaal at the end of the season and former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been touted as the man to replace the Dutchman at the helm of Old Trafford.

“And we cannot reach that either because we can only finish fourth and now if Manchester City lose and we win, we still have to play matches to qualify ourselves [for the Champions League] next season”.
Newcastle United, Norwich City and Aston Villa have all dropped down to the Championship, while two of last season’s newly-promoted clubs – Bournemouth and Watford – managed to survive in the top flight of English football.
He continued, suggesting that the criticism from those associated with the club has made his and United’s task that more hard.
United, though, could still end the season as FA Cup winners, as well as sneaking into the top four if City lose at Swansea, but Bosnich – a Premier League victor with the club in 2000 – feels Van Gaal’s time is up with Jose Mourinho waiting in the wings.
“That is “if” and I want to keep to the facts”, he said.
The 25-year-old has won United’s player of the year award in each of the last three seasons, having developed into one of the continent’s leading goalkeepers since moving from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
They also face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley next weekend, so there is still plenty to play.
“There was a moment we could have been first in the league when we drew at Leicester and after that we had 14 injuries”.
“Of course you can say Manchester United need to be champions – yes, I know, the expectations are like that, but I don’t think that is realistic”.
“He has said that many, many times, not only to me but also to his colleagues and the fans – in interviews or things like that – and he’s extended his contract”.
He said: “I’d certainly like to see him in the Premier League, I’m a fan of his”.
“There are still a lot of question marks, but I think that deal still may happen”.
