Van Gaal: Arsenal Are Technically The EPL’s Best
“Because I did it everywhere”, Van Gaal told reporters ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against VfL Wolfsburg at Old Trafford.

Van Gaal, whose Barclays Premier League-topping team play Arsenal away on Sunday, said: “We scored at once (in the second half to make it 2-1) but after that it was suffering”. More recently, the former United captain said he had “concerns” about the Dutchman’s management style.
Manchester United head into the Emirates meeting top of the table but Arsene Wenger’s men linger just three points behind. “But there are still a few things we can improve”. “Then you have to play again mid-week in the Champions League and that is the difference between all the clubs in Europe”. “That is why it is so hard to prepare for the match against Arsenal”.
“Another solution is to change your squad“, he said.
“We can see that on the training pitch and we can see that in the games”.
“They need to bounce back and this is a good platform for them to do it”, admits Schneiderlin, “but we do not focus on what they are feeling and do not give importance to it”. Stindl was the first to open the score for Monchengladbach in the 54 minute before Otamendi equalized 9 minutes later.
Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus also won their matches in the European competition and remain in a good position after two rounds of group stage matches.
Valencia started at right-back in the 2-1 victory but struggled during his time on the field, with Van Gaal electing to replace him at half-time with Ashley Young.
“The ball came to me and I had a feeling there could be someone at the back post and Chris took it really well”.
Caligiuri tested De Gea with a low shot as Wolfsburg looked for an equalizer, while Nicklas Bendtner and Andre Schurrle came off the bench to add to the Germans’ attacking threat.
Similarly, Young’s United teammate Chris Smalling can play at full-back or centre-half, making him an important regular in Hodgson’s plans and van Gaal believes the player deserves all the credit for his excellent run of form in the current campaign.
