Van Gaal expects to stay at United

Ex-Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand feels it would be unwise on his former club’s part to not consider Jose Mourinho’s candidature should they part ways with Louis van Gaal at the end of the season.

Heading into the final matches of the Premier League season tonight, the lucrative final Champions League place is very much still up for grabs with three teams still in the running for a place in Europe’s elite club competition.

Louis van Gaal’s men head into the final weekend of the season fifth in the Premier League, having passed up the chance to usurp fourth-placed Manchester City on Tuesday.

But United still need a point to make sure they didn’t finish sixth.

But Van Gaal – although aware that anything can happen in the football – does not think his No. 1 is packing his bags after Saturday’s FA Cup Final against Crystal Palace.

“We can win the FA Cup”. How many are still in the race?

“We don’t need to know the other scores, so we won’t be thinking about anything more”, he said.

Manchester United are on course to become the first British club to earn more than half a billion pounds in a single year. “That is a different way of looking to the situation”.

However, Woodward stressed the importance of United s youth system, something which many fans felt Van Gaal only reluctantly called upon when an injury crisis left him with little choice this season.

And the Dutchman is pressing ahead with close season plans and drawing up summer transfer policy with the club s hierarchy, despite the intense scrutiny over his own future at Old Trafford.

Of United’s style of play under Van Gaal, Bosnich added: “It’s not something that Manchester United fans are accustomed to”.

“That is “if” and I want to keep to the facts”, he said.

Van Gaal is now in position to see out the final year of his contract after taking over from David Moyes in 2014, but this is something De Gea is not too keen on, and the Spaniard is said to be unhappy with the prospect of another season without Champions League football.

“We depend on Man City, okay, but we are still fighting and then we are still fighting for the FA Cup”. We had to play in a certain way. “We fight until the end”.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth still have plenty to play for. What I would say is that his legacy will be his introduction of the young players into the squad, giving young players time on the pitch and their opportunity.
