Van Gaal Lauds ‘Unbelievable’ Rashford Post Man Utd Dream Debut
Rashford shot to fame last night with two goals on his United debut to help Louis van Gaal’s side to a 5-1 win over FC Midtjylland, becoming the club’s youngest European goalscorer in the process.

In fairness, however, United’s preparations were thrown into disarray when Chris Smalling withdrew on Thursday with a shoulder problem, and Anthony Martial then injured a hamstring in the warm-up.
Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford receives “loads of stick” from his teammates due to his love for the game scrabble, according to a report.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is optimistic that David de Gea will be fit for the Premier League game against Arsenal on Sunday.
Jubilant with the teenager’s performance, Van Gaal said it was fantastic to see his first two goals in the debut match, the Mirror reported. “I wasn’t anxious about him”.
Though Rashford was the undoubted star, United had another player – 19-year-old Joe Riley – making his first start for the club, while Regan Poole, 17, also came on late on to make his maiden appearance for the club.
Depay has had a troubled campaign following his big-money move to United last summer, but he was one of their best players on Thursday. United were staring at an early exit until Nikolay Bodurov’s own goal reduced the deficit, Juan Mata had a penalty well-saved before Rashford scored his first goal for United in front of the Stretford End with a great finish from a Mata cutback. “I said to him at half-time to be in the width of the goal and you shall score”.
“(Mourinho) has said things a number of times with a lot of words”, Van Gaal told TV channel RTL7, according to the Daily Express.
In the closing moments, United won a second penalty, converted by Ander Herrera and, following the dismissal of Andre Romer for a second yellow card, man of the match Memphis Depay completed the rout in injury-time.

“I thought he was terrific all night and showed what he’s capable of, so now it’s up to him to do that consistently on a week-to-week basis and I’m sure he can do that”. We know about the young boys they have. On the first day, he was with the second team and, on the second day, he was with us. “Maybe it will be a turning point for him”.
