Van Gaal: Manchester United Are Back In EPL Title Chase
Wayne Rooney of Manchester United celebrates after scoring the winning goal during the Barclays Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield on January 17, 2016.

Manchester United relied on brilliant goalkeeping by David de Gea and a late, opportunistic finish by Wayne Rooney to snatch a 1-0 win at great rival Liverpool on Sunday, sparking talk of an unlikely run at the Premier League title.
Rooney’s strike – United’s first shot on target – came after Marouane Fellaini’s header rebounded off the crossbar and the England captain has now scored in four successive games for his club for the first time since March 2012.
Sunday’s result saw Van Gaal extend his flawless record against Liverpool to four wins from his four meetings with the Merseysiders.
Describing Van Gaal as a ‘top-class’manager, Rodgers said that the Dutchman was highly experienced, insisting that he had won big games for some of the biggest clubs in the world. “That is what I’m thinking”.
“When the disappointment goes away and we actually analyse the performance there were a lot of good things in the game but we just couldn’t take our chances and lived to regret that later in the game”.
Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has said the side must be better when it comes to their concentration after conceding another goal from a set-piece as they lost 1-0 to Manchester United at Anfield yesterday.
The fact United were able to leave Anfield with three points was largely down to David de Gea, who was by far the busier goalkeeper.
“We didn’t keep the ball in the first half so we couldn’t create anything and they created three chances in the first half – that was surviving”.
“We have to continue, which is not so easy, but we can do it”. “We have done better than years before at this ground and showed we can fight even when we miss certain players”. “Creating chances was good, finishing was not, otherwise we would have scored a goal”.
“It was an important win for us”.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was left frustrated by his side not taking their opportunities.
“The goal came from the first indirect corner and we ask for that as it always more risky. We lost a game that we should not have lost…so I can’t be very positive at this moment so soon after the game”.

Obviously it is great to have records but I don’t think it will beat the feeling I have now.
