Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has arrived back in England. “Clearly we all hoped the results would be better and everyone is disappointed with that… undoubtedly its been a season of under-achievement, ” said Gill, who is a Federation Internationale de Football Association vice president.

The message was clear – Van Gaal is no longer wanted by some United fans and they are becoming increasingly unhappy with the slow, dour football that is often on display at Old Trafford.

Already out of the Champions League, United are five points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham and lagging behind in their attempts to reach next season’s competition. We have to stick together.

Described as a “love letter” to the club, it is claimed Mourinho even went into detail about how he would be willing to adapt his style to meet United’s traditional attacking ethos.

“They are right to boo”, Van Gaal said. Plus, new speculation suggests 42-year-old assistant coach and legendary United player Ryan Giggs might replace Van Gaal as interim coach until the summer of 2016.

Gill declined to comment on the Mourinho report but did say he does not believe Van Gaal is finding the United job more hard than he imagined.

United registered just one shot on target throughout the whole clash, and have now won just two of their last ten Premier League games.

United’s next match is an FA Cup tie at Derby on Friday, and the Spain global added in his message to the fans: “Football doesn’t stop and now it’s time for the FA Cup and we want to fight for this trophy for you”.

However, if things carry on this way, and the Red Devils were to lose a few more games, they could very well find themselves fighting for a top 10 spot instead of a place in Europe.

“If the NY board want to discuss matters with us, they will. We had great success under Sir Alex and we want that to continue”.
