Van Gaal’s treatment disrespectful – Wenger
Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal, walks out of the press conference after slamming the media for stories and rumours about his dismissal.

After a week when his job has come under intense scrutiny from fans and the media and Jose Mourinho touted as a replacement, Van Gaal hit back – and bizarrely started by asking for apologies from reporters who he accused of ignoring the facts.
Van der Gouw suggested that Van Gaal’s assistant Ryan Giggs, who was interim manager after United sacked David Moyes, lacked the experience to take the job on a permanent basis.
Reports claimed a defeat against either Stoke on Saturday or Chelsea at Old Trafford on Monday would prompt United s owners, the Glazer family, to dismiss him. Mendes was speaking to Globoesporte when he said Mourinho had not been approached yet. “There isn’t an official proposal either”.
Van Gaal made it clear he has been annoyed by the coverage of his possible departure and strode out of his weekly press conference at the club’s training ground in Carrington on Wednesday.
“The reason is that if I have to imagine Manchester United over the last 50-60 years and what they are about; winning trophies, Jose massively ticks that box; but bringing young players through?”
The Red Devils’ hierarchy were locked in meetings yesterday as they tried to decide what to do with their manager.
“Ed was very fast out of the dressing room but I feel that support, yes”, the 64-year-old said.
Van Gaal conceded his side are now out of sorts, but insisted with the Premier League so tight he can turn things around within a month.
He was the highest paid boss in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge, where he earned a staggering £10m-a-year.
There has been speculation he has two games to save his job after a run of six games without a win and three defeats in a row.
“I don’t know if Man United will take Mourinho”, Nevin said.
Pep Guardiola would also be high on United s wanted list after the Spaniard said he will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

However, he remains the manager ahead of the Boxing Day meeting with Stoke City, and Sky Sports News reported on Tuesday that a club meeting held during the day did not involve discussion over the Dutchman’s position, despite speculation to the contrary.
