Van Gaal’s uncertain future could scupper Man Utd’s record-breaking £100m transfer
Now with Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal’s future completely up in the air after United fell five points adrift of the top four at the weekend, United want to avoid a mid-season managerial change if they are to reignite their interest in Bale at the end of this campaign.

Within that, there were some claims Van Gaal had offered his resignation – but United on Tuesday morning denied that was the case.
The Independent report that the then-Real manager Rafa Benitez convinced Bale to stay in Spain while he had his own doubts about his prospects of winning silverware under United’s embattled boss Loius van Gaal.
Van Gaal went back to the Netherlands after the Old Trafford loss for a planned family visit and the players were given Sunday and Monday off.
After suffering a sixth league defeat of the season, Van Gaal must also lift his players for Friday’s FA Cup fourth round trip to Derby County.
“His experience, his knowledge of the game and his understanding of the Premier League, which Van Gaal has only had for the last 18 months, would be invaluable to United”.
Appointed as successor to David Moyes in 2014, Van Gaal is just over halfway through a three-year contract.
Supporters have increasingly vented their frustration at what is widely regarded as a tiresome brand of football.

And it would appear, with only a few days left before deadline, there has been little progress made in any attempts to boost the squad with further recruits in the current transfer window.
