Van Gaal: United want Ronaldo back
As a result of that showing, Ronaldo’s future has come under even more scrutiny and Paris Saint-Germain have been one of the sides mooted as potential suitors.

“Memphis and Jesse played really well and we shouldn’t forget had great chances in the first half to score the second goal which would have made it easier”.
“When I was talking with him he said “but you know the way I love Manchester United”.
“We are looking at all players, not just Ronaldo”, said Van Gaal. “But these players are mostly ungettable”, he added.
At the moment, he’s a peripheral figure at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the tactics deployed by manager Rafael Benitez not allowing Ronaldo to have much of an impact in Real’s general play.
“I was so convinced”.
And now Van Gaal has confirmed that Ronaldo is his No 1 target.
Although Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez has received backing from club president Florentino Perez, it seems like Benitez’s days are numbered following the reported falling out between the manager and Ronaldo. “If there’s any club that can afford to write off £60m, it’s United”.
It seems, however, Ronaldo has no intentions of leaving Real Madrid any time soon, with his agent, Jorge Mendes, stating clearly the 30-year-old forward wants to retire at the Bernabeu.
His former Alex Ferguson though, was apparently “99 per cent sure” that the Portuguese star would one day return.
Carlo Ancelotti won’t rule out a return to Real Madrid.
Late winners are always hard to stomach, but it was particularly cruel on Watford that Manchester United chose Saturday to rediscover their knack of conjuring victory at the death. “The money was unlimited and it is an up and coming idea as a club”.
“It was an inexplicable appointment at Real Madrid”.

Call me devil’s advocate here but I don’t want to see us re-sign Ronaldo.
