Van Gaal vows to resign if chemistry with Man Utd fails

With the January transfer window looming large, United have inevitably been linked with a host of players as Van Gaal looks to boost his side’s chances of winning the Premier League title this season.

Paul was spot on with his comments about van Gaal’s post match remarks about Paddy McNair.

“And when I have the feeling that the chemistry is there, I will always work to my utmost best”.

Despite being praised at previous clubs for the groundwork he as put in before leaving Van Gaal says that is not the most important aspect. He had walked away from Ajax and Barcelona during his second spells at the clubs.

Were the Hammers to get a win, it would be the first time in their history they defeated United, Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea away from home in the same season.

After the game Van Gaal spoke on his belief that playing through the middle is Depay’s strongest position, but the coach returned him to the wing for the visit of former side PSV in the Champions League.

“I’m happy that when I’m gone, people are saying nice things about me”, he said.

“The most important thing in my opinion is the chemistry between players and staff”, said the United boss.

“I think that we have seen a very good match, with a very good organised West Ham United, and nevertheless we have created chances”, Van Gaal told Sky Sports News.

United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward sent the former United captain a good luck message after his shock appointment on Wednesday and the 40-year-old will come into consideration for the job at Old Trafford if he performs well in Spain. But I think we don’t have the players to play with long balls.

“His ankle is not good enough and we have to recover that ankle with a lot of strength”. Clearly the lad hadn’t done his homework properly and had not memorised the script (probably been spending too much much time watching videos of the exploits of his Manchester United countrymen such as Georgie Boy, Stormin’ Norman and Sammy Mac).

Given a chance Jesse Lingard has made himself an important first team fixture at Old Trafford and surely the many others that have made it onto the United bench of late deserve a shot on the pitch.

Antonio Valencia (foot) and Luke Shaw (leg) remain sidelined and United have yet to address speculation that Marcos Rojo has sustained a shoulder problem in training this week.

They do not like United’s diffident, plodding style and van Gaal’s emphasis on possession rather than attack. “We are looking but it is not for sure”.

Louis van Gaal has been left reeling by the news that he will be without Wayne Rooney for the biggest match of Manchester United's season so far
