Vanderbilt apologizes for controversial tweet from football team account
The tweet read, “We are relentless, tough and intelligent and…” and was partnered with a graphic that read, “We don’t need your permission”. All four former players are charged with five counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery. However, the problem lies in that whole “We Don’t Need Permission” part.

VandyFootball, “the Official Twitter of Vanderbilt football”, drew widespread criticism from Twitter users after posting the following tweet on Thursday morning.
Batey and Vandenburg will be retried in November, and prosecutors are expected to use the same evidence against them.
At a hearing, the juror said he never considered himself a victim, and that his work his previous experiences had no bearing on the outcome of the verdict against Vandenbury and Batey.
The tweet was not meant to suggest that Vanderbilt was trying to downplay issues of sexual assault, but given recent incidents involving the school and one of its female students, this was an unfortunate slogan to send out on social media.

Thankfully, probably from everyone stating the obvious, the tweet has since been deleted from the account and someone might be in a wee bit of trouble.
